Racism For Sale; This Is An Insult To Malawian Children And Nation, Says Malawian Government
BBC News Africa Eye has done an investigation on a video that was shot in 2020 by a Chinese citizen who was an immigrant in Malawi. In a video African kids from Malawi are heard chanting words that they did not understand. the sentence they were instructed to repeat came as a shock to many people.
The Chinese citizen in Malawi who kept on exploiting kids to make videos and posted online for money. He confessed to having shot up to 380 videos a day which was equivalent to thousands of US dollars. The villagers said he could on pay the children up to less than half a dollar a day.
The guy behind the camera posed as a person offering them charity and the villagers who didn’t understand the Chinese language trusted him. according to them, he had come to the village to teach their kids the Chinese language but after some time they realized the kids didn’t understand anything in Chinese.
There were a bunch of videos o the same but one video caught people’s attention where he asked the poor kids to say that ‘I am a black monster, I have a low IQ, yeah’. Those words were a total insult to not only the people of Malawi but also to all Africans. The video caused so much controversy around social media on how can a Chinese citizen insult Africans in there in land
The Chinese immigrant in Malawi took advantage of the poor village kids. In some videos he posed as their savior by offering them food. He made kids wash their legs and do so many more disgusting things. He portrayed his racism on many occasions throughout the documentary and also did not shy away from saying how Africans are stupid.
