Former Nakuru Senator, Susan Kihika Won The Nakuru Governor Seat
Susan Kihika, a senator from Nakuru, was elected governor in August after receiving 440,707 votes.
With 225,623 votes, incumbent Governor Lee Kinyanjui was the closest rival of Kihika, who was running on a UDA platform.
He ran as a candidate for the Jubilee party.
She received her clearing certificate from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) County Returning Officer to loud applause while being accompanied by her deputy David Kones.
After Lee Kinyanjui and Kinuthia Mbugua, she becomes the third governor to rule the county and the first woman to hold the top position in Nakuru.
