Keroche Breweries CEO, Tabitha Karaja Won Nakuru Senate Seat
CEO of Keroche Breweries Tabitha Karanja has been elected to the Nakuru Senate seat.
Ms. Karanja received 442,864 votes when running as a candidate for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Lawrence Karanja, who was her main rival and was running on behalf of the Jubilee Party, received 163,625 votes.
Mrs. Karanja was accompanied by Mr. Joseph Karanja, her husband.
Abednego Gathenya (4,680 votes), Thomas Mwangi (10,745), John Mututho of the ODM, Daniel Kimani of Ford Kenya (5,975), and Boniface Mwai (7,223) have all entered the contest to succeed Susan Kihika (36,472).
Michael Wechuli of the ANC received 2,580 votes, followed by Koigi Wamwere of the Independent Party with 6,335, Chrispus Wathimba of the Independent Party with 2,638.
