On Monday, August 8, 2022, all entertainment venues in Nyandarua County are required to close their doors at 10 p.m.
Amos Mariba, a county commissioner, stated to Citizen Digital that this will open the way for the elections scheduled for Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
“I urge all bar operators and owners of entertainment establishments to adhere to the directive so as to allow smooth running of elections come Tuesday next week,” Mariba said.
The order comes after an Olkalou security meeting. The county commissioner also guaranteed the community’s safety during the election campaign.
“Security has been heightened in the entire county. Our officers have been deployed to ensure law and order,” Mariba added.
